Introduction

This policy sets out how Wrays Pty Ltd and Wrays Lawyers Pty Ltd collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information.  In this policy these entities are referred to collectively as “Wrays”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

If you apply for a job with us, we will collect your educational end employment history, and other contents of your application.

If you interact with our website, we or our IT service providers may gather information such as your IP address, browser type, the source of your visit (such as search engines or direct visits), pages visited, clicks and other user actions. This may include personal information.  In this policy this information is specifically referred to as “website use information”.

How do we collect and hold your personal information?

Where possible, we collect personal information directly from you.  However, sometimes we collect personal information of individuals we don’t have direct contact with.  For example, if you represent an organisation involved in a matter with our client, we may collect information indirectly.  Regardless, we will collect, hold, use and disclose your information in accordance with this privacy policy.

We store your personal information that we hold at our physical premises in Australia, and on Wrays’ or third party servers located in Australia.  We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure, and against other misuse.  These steps include physical and technological access controls and confidentiality agreements.

How do we use your personal information?

We use the personal information we hold for the purposes for which it is collected, for related purposes, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.  This may include use for the following purposes:

We take reasonable steps to safeguard the information we share with others.

We do not disclose personal information to any organisation for the purpose of third party marketing activities.

Is your personal information transferred outside Australia?

Due to the global nature of patent and trade mark services and some legal services, it may be necessary to share your personal information with foreign patent, trade mark or law firms, foreign courts and tribunals, and foreign government agencies including patent offices.

Our IT service providers who gather website use information may store that information outside Australia.

How can you access or correct your personal information?

We will take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information we hold about you is up to date and accurate.  Please let us know promptly if any changes are required to be made to the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact details at the end of this policy.

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct that information, by contacting us using the contact details at the end of this policy.  We will respond to such requests within a reasonable time.

If you wish to arrange access or correction of your personal information or to make a complaint in relation to our collection, storage, use or disclosure of your personal information, you can contact us using the contact details at the end of this policy.  We will respond to your complaint within a reasonable time.

Will we update this policy?

We may update our policy from time to time, in which case the updated version will be displayed on our website.
