Dear Friends & Colleagues,
As we enjoy the festive season, the team at Wrays would like to thank our clients and associates for their continued support during 2023.
This year has been another successful year for Wrays. A milestone in the journey of our firm was the appointment of our new CEO, Paula Adamson. Paula joined Wrays from IP Australia where she was most recently the Deputy Director General as well as the Commissioner of Patents and Registrar of Trade Marks, Designs and Plant Breeders’ Rights.
During 2023 our team took advantage of the opportunity to travel again. Nurturing relationships with our international network is critical to ensure that we can protect our client’s innovations in any jurisdiction around the world. A particular highlight on the international calendar was our presence at the International Trade Mark Association Conference where we welcomed 300 friends from our network for our belated 100 year birthday celebrations on the rooftop of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore.
Closer to home, our Litigation team has been involved in one of the largest IP disputes in the country and the number of trade mark registrations and patent filings for our clients have both experienced significant growth.
Our success could not have been achieved without the exceptional people of Wrays. After nearly 30 years at our firm, we will soon be farewelling one of our Directors Peter Caporn as he heads off on his well-earned retirement. We congratulate Peter on his outstanding career and thank him for his contribution to the firm’s success.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your business this year. We wish you a safe and healthy break and look forward to working with you in 2024.
The Wrays team will be taking a short break from 23 December and look forward to re-opening to clients from 2 January 2023. Should you need assistance during this time, please contact us on the email address wrays@wrays.com.au which will continue to be monitored.
Kind regards,
Wrays Board of Directors
