Tim Francis is an intellectual property lawyer with extensive experience in IP protection, commercialisation, management and enforcement. He has provided IP advice to the private sector, universities and other education institutions and governmental agencies.
Tim regularly acts in contentious IP matters, including litigation concerning patent infringement and validity, trade mark opposition, infringement and removal, passing off and misleading and deceptive conduct. Tim additionally enjoys advising those seeking to buy and sell assets or businesses – assisting vendors to identify and protect their IP, and conducting IP due diligence on acquisition targets.
Prior to joining Wrays, Tim has advised local and international clients via the IP group of a large international law firm, the legal teams of large Australian IP attorney firms, and boutique IP law firms.
