I am an intellectual property lawyer and registered trade mark attorney – with nearly 20 years’ experience in intellectual property protection, enforcement and commercialisation.

I assist clients on a daily basis with trade mark clearance and filing strategies, prosecution and enforcement, as well as with a broader range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property related matters, including in copyright, designs, protection of confidential information, domain name disputes, passing off and consumer law, advertising, website and product labelling reviews. I have assisted clients in bringing their disputes before the Federal Court of Australia and State Supreme Courts, Australian Trade Marks Office and World Intellectual Property Organisation, as well as resolving them through alternative dispute resolution processes.

I work with a range of clients, spanning from individual designers, small business owners and App developers, to SMEs and multinational corporations across the food and beverage, fashion, cosmetic, health, pharmaceutical, information technology and construction industries.

I adopt a straightforward and commercial approach to advising clients in relation to their intellectual property and brand protection strategies and believe that open communication and understanding my clients’ businesses and commercial objectives is key. Having experienced working in-house on secondment at a multinational pharmaceutical company, providing legal advice and support in a range of areas including in relation to intellectual property and consumer law issues, I am acutely aware of the need to achieve practical solutions for clients in a timely and commercially effective manner. I’m passionate about assisting clients to protect innovations leading towards better and sustainable outcomes for the future, and trade marks and branding which communicates to consumers in a meaningful manner.

I enjoy the fact that Wrays is an end-to-end full service IP practice, so I have the privilege of working with extremely bright colleagues in various technological and business fields, which enables us to collaborate in servicing and understanding the technical, commercial and legal needs of our clients in depth to provide a streamlined service.

I’m also actively involved in and proud of the pro bono contribution that Wrays has made to the community through its pro bono program, and have assisted a number of creative industry and charitable not-for-profit organisations with their intellectual property issues over the years.
