Andrew Butler is a Principal of Wrays, and specialises in creating and managing patent, trade mark and design rights.
Andrew is a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney, and has been involved in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications for a diverse range of technologies, including mineral and metallurgical processing methods and apparatus, simple and complex mechanical devices, plastic products, and mass spectrometry.
He has also regularly provided freedom to operate and infringement opinions to clients in fast moving product categories, including food and beverages, clothing, electrical goods, and novelty items.
Andrew Butler is also a registered Australian and New Zealand trade marks attorney, and counsels clients on trade mark issues including searching and providing clearance/infringement opinions, trade mark filing, prosecution and registration both domestically and internationally, trade mark oppositions, and the management of client portfolios.
Andrew’s trade mark experience covers a wide spectrum of industries including food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, retail, clothing and accessories, electronics, pharma, automotive, baby goods, and plumbing and bathware.
Prior to joining Wrays, Andrew practised in the intellectual property group at a top-tier law firm.
